MixMeister and Numark hit the Remix Hotel Miami scene in force this year. In addition to Jack O’Donnell, the company’s President & CEO, Numark Product Specialists Heath Tougas, DJ Kares, Eric McGreggor and Rob Bachi were all on hand for the three-day party. Held March 27 – 29, 2008 at South Beach’s National Hotel, RHMIA attracted more than 10,000 DJs, music producers and fans.
DJ Kares played six events. For her packed-house sets, Kares got the feet on the floor with MixMeister Control and iDJ2, using PHX headphones the whole time. Literature and CD handouts were snatched up as quickly as they were put out!
Making its debut at the Remix Hotel, MixMeister Control is the world’s first hardware controller for MixMeister software. A real-time control surface, MixMeister Control gives DJs the perfect hardware interface for the powerful MixMeister software. Looping, EQ, FX, automation, VST plug-ins and more are all easy to control with MixMeister Control’s 40 knobs, 53 buttons, and large jog wheel. The only rival to MixMeister Control’s power and ease-of-use is its eye-catching looks.
Next to the MixMeister Control in Kares’ rig was the iDJ2, the only iPod DJ console that gives total control of the music with real–time scratching, a stunning color screen, and Numark's exclusive crate management. A unique docking system lets DJs play and mix two songs simultaneously from a single iPod without a computer. Additional iPods, thumb drives, and external hard drives can be connected via USB, and mics, CD players, and other audio sources can be connected via line inputs. With these two slick tools, the party was off the hook from the first beat.
